ADOPT A ROADSIDE

Adopt a Roadside is a roadside enhancement anti-litter program supported by volunteer groups who work to keep Victoria beautiful.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Adopt a Roadside invites volunteer groups, gardening clubs, neighbourhood associations, families, and individuals to adopt sites near roadsides to help keep them clean and beautiful. 

Volunteers are the backbone of Keep Australia Beautiful and typically engage in various activities such as assisting with events, providing services, or participating in projects that aim to benefit others or address societal needs.

The essence of a volunteer role lies in the altruistic motivation of individuals to make a positive impact and contribute to the well-being of others or the community at large. 

HOW WE SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS

To ensure volunteer are equipped to do their job, we provide: 

  • Safety training and first aid kits.

  • Public liability and personal injury insurance.

  • KABV will manage permission from VicRoads to carry out volunteer work on the roadside. VicRoads provides safety equipment including high visibility vests, gloves and work ahead signs to ensure volunteers are as safe as possible while working on the roadside.
